what is critical thinking?

For me critical thinking is all about and much of a independent thinking that is rational, biased, partial and quality of thoughts that we produce and build.
Critical thinking is also seeing things open mindedly and outside of box with many possible answers and thoughts to one question but also requires to accept that answer which could be different than what is originally thought.

  1. Hi Sonia,

Thank you for your first post. While you have a lovely personal definition of critical thinking here, this post does not address all of the questions that I asked in the homework assignment. Please go back and take a look at it, and respond to the rest of the questions. I look forward to your responses!

    Sincerely,
    Professor Wexelbaum

  2. Yes i have heard this term before multiple times.
According to the National Council for Excellence in Critical Thinking, 1987
A statement by Michael Scriven and Richard Paul
"Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating informantion gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action. In its exemplary form, it is based on universal intellectual values that transcend subject matter divisons: clarity, accuracy, precision, consistency, relevance, sound evidence, good reasons, depth, breadth, and fairness."

Yes as the expert defines critical thinking is the intellecutal process of how one conceptualize, applies, anlayze the information based on their experience along with all other factors to generate a proper action.
I think there is a connection between critical thinking and IM 204 research strategies because we will
intellectually analyze, evaluate and apply different ways to do research. We will learn and develop new ideas than what we already have and can adapt to perceive things outside of the box and always have a open mind for the outcome that could be very different than expected.
